Enhance Your Skincare Routine with New Nordic

Melbourne is heading into its colder months and my skin desperately felt like it needed hydration and more elasticity. I previously tried a few different cult products promising restored hydration and glow. But, as a time-poor woman in her mid-20s with a lot on my plate, I found myself giving up hope I would ever achieve the renewed radiance I was after. I decided to shake up my skincare routine and test out New Nordic’s skincare range.

New Nordic is a Swedish-based company founded in 1990 by Karl Kristian Bergman Jensen. In 2004, François Gérard joined New Nordic, and together with Jensen spends time travelling all over the world investigating rare botanicals in their unspoiled environments.

Beauty starts from within

New Nordic’s Hyaluron Active supports the skin’s ecosystem both inside and out, which is an important component to maintaining long-term skin health. Vitamin C helps protect cells from oxidative stress, one of the leading causes of visible age signs in skin. Vitamin C also contributes to normal collagen formation and thereby to normal skin function. Collagen is an important structural component of skin and of connective tissue, including elastin, which has an effect on the firmness of skin and skin elasticity.

Living in an inner-city suburb of Melbourne means my skin is constantly exposed to the harsh effects of oxidative stress from pollution. Not to mention my skin only just had weeks of sun exposure in summer, and it was certainly suffering the effects because I was noticing a few new broken capillaries, redness and freckles.

As part of my new skincare routine, I take one Hyaluron Active tablet a day with water in the morning. I’ve noticed a gradual difference in my skin’s firmness with the additional hyaluronic acid from this tablet. Being in my mid-20s, I’m becoming more cautious of my skin losing firmness with age, and this supplement helps support my skin’s collagen from within, something I’ve been loving doing daily.

New Nordic Moisture boosters

My new skincare regime consists of New Nordic’s Natural Magic Anti-Ageing Cream. It has become a staple in my night-time skincare routine. With ingredients like pomegranate, sea buckthorn and apricot, the serum is a feast for my senses as well as my skin. Sea buckthorn contains a high dose of vitamin C as well as three times more vitamin A than carrots and a potent amount of vitamin E. The cream contains fermented pomegranate and astaxanthin. Pomegranate is rich in antioxidants and contains fantastic antibacterial properties, perfect for the drier condition of my skin. This cream has helped reduce some of my stubborn acne due to its antibacterial effects.

I recently moved to an area surrounding lots of walking tracks which I’ve been making good use of. Afterwards I rinse my skin, and this has led to more frequent washes for my face than usual, and with the higher exposure to UV radiation I find the Natural Magic Anti-Ageing Cream helps repair my skin from the environmental factors and replaces lost moisture.

Ideal to use alongside New Nordic’s Natural Magic Anti-Ageing Cream is New Nordic’s Hyaluronic Active Serum.

I apply this serum morning and night and I love how it makes my skin look and feel. Containing fine molecular hyaluronic acid, squalene and sea buckthorn, it restores, lifts and provides firmness to the skin. My skin is prone to fluctuating between normal and dry, and this serum is suited to both skin types, which takes the hassle out of choosing a serum more suited to one or the other.

As a very active woman who frequents the gym regularly, I find my skin is prone to a build-up of excess oils and debris. The Hyaluronic Active Serum penetrates well into the skin, giving me that extra boost I need. It leaves me feeling rebuilt and fresh, and I’ve been leaving the home with no makeup on to allow it to penetrate and do the work. This product, like all of New Nordic’s range, has become a staple in my skincare routine.
